Knotless Box Braids Starter Kit

We Bundled the Box Braid Basket So You Don't Have To Build It

you know the drill. you pick your braiding hair, then you're back on the site five minutes later looking for a gel, then you remember you don't actually own a decent rat tail comb. three tabs, three add to carts, and you still might've missed something.

we bundled the three things that actually belong together for a knotless box braid install: the hair, the hold, and the tool. it's the Knotless Box Braids Starter Kit, and it's cheaper than buying the pieces one at a time.

what's actually in it

bought separately, that's $33.95. the kit is $29.99.

why these three and not just "braiding hair"

the hair is pre-stretched, which means someone already did the tapering work before it got to you. that's less time spent hand-stretching hair before you even start the install. the gel is rated maximum hold, meant for braid, edge, and loc work specifically, not a general purpose styling gel that happens to also do braids. and the comb matters more than people give it credit for: a carbon fiber rat tail comb is what actually gives you clean, even parts, which is most of what makes a set of box braids look uniform instead of uneven.

none of that is dramatic. it's just the difference between a kit that was thrown together and one where somebody thought about what the install actually needs.

about that three packs

this kit comes with three packs of 52 inch hair. that's sized as a starting point for a medium length, medium size knotless install, not a promise that covers every head. bigger braids, a fuller install, or going longer than 52 inches usually means adding a pack or two before you start. if you want the actual breakdown by style and length, our braiding hair buying guide walks through it so you're not guessing halfway through a braid.

quick answers

Is the hair in this kit human hair or synthetic?Synthetic. It's Realistic X-Pression, pre-stretched Kanekalon fiber, not human hair.
Will three packs be enough for my install?Depends on your braid size, density, and how long you're going. Three packs is a starting point for a medium length, medium size install. Check the pack count guide before you buy extra or come up short.
Can I buy the items separately instead?Yes, all three are in our regular catalog. The kit exists because buying them together is cheaper and it's one add to cart instead of three.
